Playdough Queen

She made the blue part of the rose all by herself. She was very proud of her "magination." I take credit for the fingernails!! What fun playdough is!

I am so lucky to be able to stay home this year. It has really gone quickly, I can't believe we only have four months left of school. Each day I thank God for the sacrifices Clint has made for me to do this and for the wonderful gift of Remington he blessed us with. Every day is something new for her. Today it was Playdough...

What'd you do on your day off?

Well... we sat by the fire, took Remi to the dentist..(just a check-up-everything was GREAT, she even got some "delicious" toothpaste)...went to eat at Chick-Fil-A, even ice couldn't keep people away from that place!...
...drank hot cocoa, played a lot of games, watched some TV and of course... played dress up
Dress up today went something like this:
"No! No, Daddy, I will throw you the rose, you catch it, then put it in your mouth and while you do that I will run to you and you throw it back to me and I will catch it and then you can let me lay down!" Really?.... Isn't there ANYTHING ELSE you would like? I mean how about a flip or some break dancing or something.... She always has these plans for him to do. Half the time she gets upset because he can't read her mind. We're working on patience and telling others with words what you expect of them.
After much instruction, from Remington, they seem to be gettting the hang of it!
Finally! Perfection!! Take five everyone.....
As you can see there were lots of "outtakes" for this particular performance. Hehe. What a Dad!

Life on the River

Just look at those happy faces. Being outside.. being ALLOWED to get dirty...having your Daddies at your beck and call... getting to laugh with your cousins....AND getting to drink Capri Sun all day... HEAVEN.
May the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful. Psalm 68:3

Clint's an old rock skipper from way back. I remember having contests with Jason to see who could skip their rock the furthest.....need I say who won?
The "skipping of the rocks lesson." Remi couldn't quite understand why her rocks wouldn't skip. I mean she WAS throwing it as hard as she could, directly into the water. A little yet to learn about the finesse of the whole thing.
With the cousins there is always time for stories. This time Uncle Clint\Daddy got to entertain the munchkins with a tale. Uncle Jason read a lot this weekend, too. Love that dress Miss Emma.
Baby T conquering the illusive boulder. Doesn't he look too tiny to be climbing rocks like he has been doing it all his life?

Thanks for inviting us to spend life on the river again. It is always memorable.Remi thinking she is the Queen of the Rocks.

Extra Help

Hey girls!! Great news! I have a dishwasher unloader for hire! She is only four but if you like having your silverware "thrown into the drawer all helter-skelter like" then I know you will be as pleased as I was with her. Actually.... she started out really sweet. " Mommy can I help you?" " I know where these go, " " they go like this," " Yes, Remi that's a great job, you are a such a helper this morning,"..... then, "this is a lot of spoons!" And then I leave the room for only a second, and wham-O she's all done? Well, yeah, but look at the results. Hey, any help is better than none right? hehehe

Work Gloves

I hope she will remember these times with her Daddy. I have memories of my own of gathering firewood with my Dad. It's not the activity really, it's just that time of being together as a family. {God will meet all your needs. Phil. 4:19}

Remington got some new work gloves for Christmas from Pappy and DD. She got the chance to try them out the other day when she helped Daddy unload some wood for one of his mowing customers. Clint had been gone all day, and NO she didnot want to wait here while he went to unload it. {She loves her Daddy} Yes, I'm sure he would have been much faster had we all not wanted to go, but he would never say that. {He eats it up when she wants to go with him.} It all started off pretty well.... until...

Uh Oh! Remi found a new friend! Wood? What wood? She was all about "Romo" now. He was the cutest thing. He was just sitting inside the glass door looking at Remi, then the Ms. Denson let him outside. What a treat for him to love kids so much.

Yeah, she looks tired, but really it's from playing with Romo, not unloading wood! Oh, well, at least she had fun. And look how big that stack of wood is now compared to before! I hope we have enough cold weather for them to use it. I love winter.

The Sweet Stuff

Can you see the mischief in that face?
She LOVES to have a taste before the
baking. Don't we all?hehe

My sister Mayra came for a visit before leaving on a six month
mission trip, so we had sort of a girls' night. We made cookies,
rented movies and just laughed together. What a blessed experience for her to be able to go tell others the good news of Christ. Can you imagine NEVER having heard that we are free of eternity in Hell all we have to do is ask and truly believe? I hope she will be filled with the spirit and able to lead many new followers to the promise of eternal salvation on her trip. Go Mayra!! Also..... she IS
just 21 and has never even been outside the STATE before, much less to a different country, so please pray, not only for her safety, but that she is not overwhelmed, and she can do what God has sent her there for.

What happened here?

What happened to Little Miss?
Did she:
a. lose her new Ballerina Bear Santa brought her
b. trip over endless baby toys on the floor
c. stand up in the chair after I repeatedly told her not to
and finally faceslam like I said she would?
Congratulations all you Moms who knew right off the bat!
Yes, I had told her not to stand in the chair. Yes, she had done it before and not fallen. Yes, this time she was not so lucky.
Poor baby almost fell over backwards and then leaned forward too
hard and hit the edge of the table with her little face.
She skinned her gums inside and gave herself a fat little lip.
And if there's blood, well fuggitaboutit! It's all the worse
if the red stuff is present! And with mouth injuries it's always there!
But the good thing is, the mouth heals quickly. We are just so glad
she didn't knock her teeth out. We are scheduled to see Dr. Toogood
next week but not for a tooth replacement, thank goodness!

Where Dreams Come True

We had such a wonderful time at DisneyWorld.

It really is all people say it is. Magical, delightful,

well worth the money, and yes, tiring.

Our flight was delayed getting to Orlando.

We were grounded for the night in Dallas before

having to reboard a plane the next morning, early.

BUt we were able to get another night in our resort

and American Airlines pushed our return flight back

a day to let us have more time there. Even after a bumpy

start, what a super time we had. I would go back once

a year if we could afford it. Remi got to meet a ll the Princesses

and they signed her autograph book. We rode rides, saw shows

and tried to take as much in as we could. We did not rest all day

and still were only able to see part of Magic Kingdom and Animal

Kingdom. We knew we only had a couple of days, so we

concentrated our time and just had a blast. We will definately go

back. It was as much fun for Clint and I as it was for Remi.

The Ice House

So we went to check out the Ice House..
This really cool ice skating rink
here in Abilene that was open
last year, too, we just never made
it. Remington was very excited.
She has seen ice skating several
times on tv and thought it would
be wonderful. Well, we all got a pair
of skates and hit the ice.
Literally, hit the ice. Poor baby
girl more than we did. Then a man says,
"Mam, they have those double bladed things
that buckle onto her shoes that might be better
for her." Well, holy moly man! Did the guy
who gave me the skates for my little never
before ice-skating 4year old not think that
might be good? We got the skates changed
out and it was much better, for Remington.
I told Clint that I had ice skated at the
Galleria in Ft. Worth a few times over my
lifetime. But OH MY GOSH! I DO NOT
remember my feet feeling like they were
giving birth while I was trying not to fall
and bust my kiester! We both had to take
very frequent breaks, like after ONE TIME
around the rink! We ended up feeling a lot
better after a little while and had lots of fun!

New Blog Resolution

Ok.... so I decided to join the masses and get a blog already! The main reason I haven't until now was because I didn't have a digital camera. A blog with no pictures !@#$? That would have been way too much reading for many of you! So, my Mom lent me her old camera on a trial basis to see if I like it. I'm still deciding Mom, please don't expect a check for the camera just yet! hehehe.. Any way, after taking a trip to DisneyWorld in December I thought now would be a good a time as any to branch out my computer skills. Which, by the way, are well, let's say "limited" shall we? Like when I'm done typing this I don't even know how I'm going to get the pictures on the blog! So please come see us here at our blog when you need a good laugh, I'm sure we will be able to supply one now and again.
